FRAN REMAINS THE LEADER

The Annual Meeting of The Council of West of England Brass Band Associations was held on Saturday 19 September when members received a most satisfactory report from the Secretary and excellent trading results from the Treasurer.  The election of Officers resulted in Frances Calver (chairman), Brian Elliott (secretary), Mike Knapton (treasurer) and Vivian Willcock (registrar).

Tribute was paid to Bill Poulton who has retired from the Council.  He had served as a member of Council from it's inception in 1982 and for many years as Registrar and vice-chairman.  His experience and knowledge will be greatly missed.

Best Wishes were conveyed to Narelle Barker (Cornwall BBA delegate) and husband Graham on the birth of a baby girl last Friday morning.  Band delegates will not only have to contend with Narelle at the contest assembly entrance, but another Cornish "bouncer" - you have been warned!!

REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2010

 

Please note the 2010 West of England Regional Championships will again be held over one weekend at the Riviera International Conference Centre, Torquay.  The provisional programme (subject to change depending on entries/test-piece times) are as follows:-

 

          Saturday 13th March               Fourth, Third and First Sections

 

          Sunday 14th March           Second and Championship Sections
